Hi.

Welcome.
If no one's told you yet today, you look brilliant.

August Flash Fiction: Day 8

August Flash Fiction: Day 8

Happy Tuesday, Writers!

Each day a new post with a picture (with a CC0 license), word count limit, and occasional additional twist will be published at 7:00 am EDT. You will then have until the next day's post to write your story.

You can then either keep it to yourself (a perfectly valid way to participate!) or you can share your story itself in the comments, or share a link in the comments where we can read your story (blog, Instagram etc.)
My daily story will be added to the post under the picture within the same deadline.

Aug. 8 Word Limit: 125
Aug. 8 Extra Challenge: Must include a weather phenomenon
Aug. 8 Image Prompt:

Correspondence
112 words

Dear Prudence,

I had the most lovely time visiting cousin Selma. It must be said, however, that the party was not without its issues, though none of them were credited to Selma. There is no controlling the weather and as an intense wind, of perhaps a distant tornado, blew into our garden party it was one calamity after another. Aunt Louisa's wig flew off into the highest tree branch, Hilda was blown back into the water feature, and one of the tents, not properly secure, took flight and tumbled away into the woods taking Poppy’s little yappy dog along with it.
The cheese puffs were divine though.
See you soon!

Yours,
Mildred
