August Flash Fiction: Day 6
Just eked out yesterday's story in time!
Cheers to those participating, especially Carrisa, who has participated every day so far.
Each day a new post with a picture (with a CC0 license), word count limit, and occasional additional twist will be published at 7:00 am EDT. You will then have until the next day's post to write your story.
You can then either keep it to yourself (a perfectly valid way to participate!) or you can share your story itself in the comments, or share a link in the comments where we can read your story (blog, Instagram etc.)
My daily story will be added to the post under the picture within the same deadline.
Aug. 6 Word Limit: 300
Extra Challenge: Don't use the word "firework(s)"
Aug. 6 Image Prompt:
We spent hours waiting, investing in getting watch from the perfect spot. We sweated in the sun, laughing together in the language of our shared experiences. When night finally came, cool and calm we were still punchy from the sun, your shoulders were pink and for the first time in my life I wished for a parasol. It wasn’t waiting, though that’s what it looked like we were doing. We were living. And once the show began, and the crowd grew hive-like in its shared focus, seeing the scene through a camera screen, I found that I could only look at you.
