August Flash Fiction: Day 23
Let's keep it short, and beautifully concise on this mid-week challenge!
Each day a new post with a picture (with a CC0 license), word count limit, and occasional additional twist will be published at 7:00 am EDT. You will then have until the next day's post to write your story.
You can then either keep it to yourself (a perfectly valid way to participate!) or you can share your story itself in the comments, or share a link in the comments where we can read your story (blog, Instagram etc.)
My daily story will be added to the post under the picture within the same deadline.
Aug. 23 Word Limit: 80
Additional challenge: Don't use the word "hand"
Aug. 23 photo prompt:
“It’s remarkable, so...lifelike,” I say, bringing my face as close to the glass as possible.
If not for a slight delay, it could be my exact reflection.
I reach, to touch, but am stopped by the glass of course.
“I didn’t know this is what I look like, I mean, it’s different than seeing a pic or a video…”
I look at the man beside me.
He remains clinical, impassive as he says, “We begin harvesting tomorrow.”
