The Road to BookCon: Instagram Challenge
As the excitement grows with each day that we get closer to BookCon on June 3 and 4, we wanted to invite everyone to get in on the action!
(We is myself and the lovely lady behind @deertales, Sydney!)
Over the course of May we’re inviting bookstagram to join us in highlighting some of this year’s attendees. While there are far more than 31 guests, we’re working within the limits of the month. We’ve included a “Freebie” space so that you can share one (or more!) of your favorite BookCon not included in our list.
We’d like to see a few different things happen for this challenge:
First and foremost, as always, we’re all about the beautiful pics, so treat any day in which a beloved author is in the spotlight to show off their books.
Secondly, we hope that if there are some authors on this list that you haven’t read that you’ll consider reading one of their books this month. If you choose to do so, you can post a pic/review any day of the month with our hashtag, or if the reading timeline allows, you can wait until that author’s day comes up on the calendar.
For example, I haven’t read Thi Bui’s “The Best We Could Do,” but would love to make a point of doing so before heading to BookCon.
Thirdly, we hope that those of you who will be attending BookCon on June 3 and 4 will be able to start making connections during the challenge. I understand that for many of us we’re happy to stay anonymous in the real world, and we never want to infringe on that experience. But in my case I can’t wait to give Syd a big hug in person this June, or to meet some of the creative minds behind the lovely images I see everyday.
Here's our lineup for the month:
Sarah J Maas
Melissa de la Cruz
Daniel Jose Older
As always our biggest goal is to have fun, discover new books to read, and in the case of this challenge, celebrate a bookish event that will bring many of us together, even if not everyone can attend the convention.
So who are you most eager to see? What late 2017 releases do you hope will be showcased?
Have you been to NYC before?
